Message to BAMboozled Members of the Class of 2001

by CHRIS. Friday, June 1, 2001

As the BAMboozled class of 2001 graduates and moves on to bigger and better things, I would like to take some time to thank them. Without these members, BAMboozled would not be the way it is today: the premier teen website that strives to fight stereotypes. Their leaving is difficult, but is made so bythe imminent departure of our two great facilitators.

Dusty and Gina, thanks for all the hard work and the effort to keep usgoing. There were times when meetings would not work without a little kickin the pants from Gina or an idea or two from Dusty. I don’t believe anyonecan replace you two; especially with all the energy and support, you twohave provided me. Thanks for all the memories: Dusty’s Birthday sing-a-gram,our shindigs at Baker Beach and Crissy Field, our excursion to Pier 39 andmany others. As you two move on to take care of your child, may your futurebe a bright one. Keep on grooving and don’t be a stranger.

James, without you, BAM would not have survived passed the first year, since you are the most senior member here and most knowledgeable. Sure, whenBAM started there were a total of three tech people, including you, but asthe days got longer, there was more and more work for you to do. Even thoughthere was more work, you met the challenge and excelled. The site worksbecause of your hard work and absolute dedication. To you and your filmcareer, may it be bright and full of pretty girls and successes. ;) BAM isthe start; Hollywood and the world will be your stage. Good luck my friendand thanks for all the help and remarks that kept me from going loony.

Liz, it truly has been a fun ride this year. We got a chance to knoweach other and you were my first slow dance at my first school dance ever; I willcherish these memories forever. I like your honestly and your quirkiness.Without you, BAM would not have the energy and charisma that we have today, nor would we have Big Bum Guy. Thanks for listening to all the stupidcomments that I made over the past year and not slapping me across my face.I know your brother, but I am glad I got to know you. As you move on withBryan, I offer you, from deep down in my heart, a fond goodbye and good luck. See you around, and keep writing to Pepsi about getting eye candy on television for you.

Marvin, our resident artist, what would have BAMboozled been likewithout you? We would not have the cool icons and pictures that we have on the sitetoday, that is what it would have been like. I can still remember at themeetings where you would draw pictures of the BAM members because you were bored out of your mind. You have your art, but at the same time, you had an infinite wisdom unmatched by anyone in this outfit. I hope your travelthrough life keeps you happy, healthy and smart. Keep doing what you aredoing and carry that energy over to you kids.

Now to you Graham, my protégé in Environmental Science and in BAM, I’vegotta say one thing and that is, “good luck.” I enjoyed listening to yourwise comments about various aspects of life and dating. I hope in thefuture, everything goes well for you and your girlfriend, and invite me to your wedding, if you have one. J By the way, do us all a favor and put yourshoes back on. J/k. Later, and take care of yourself wherever you go. Artem, you cool, but very smart guy, I hope Lowell has not messed withyour mind too much. I see you walking through the school and it is a comfort totalk to you. Have fun Mr. Smarty and wherever you go, may your energy andcharisma follow you.

Last but not least, Andrew, the smart and rather energetic politicalguy, who is a really cool person. I hope life treats you well and you keep yourwits. Hey, finish your damn rap and get it up for crying out loud. Your witand humor made the meetings fun, by the way you sound like an anti-tobaccolobbyist. Take care and I am sorry for shoving you into a locker a fewmonths back. Good luck in Minnesota or wherever you go.

To the remaining members of BAM, let’s make the class of 2002, the bestyear BAM has ever had or will ever have. To do this, we need to keep themeetings going strong and the site healthy. My only worry is about thegeneration who will not have met Dusty, Gina, and James, and I am afraidthey might not be as dedicated to what they are doing. The class of 2000 bought the land, the class of 2001 built the foundation and the class of2002 will build the house. I hope the new facilitator(s) will have the sameamount of energy and open-mindedness that Dusty and Gina have. Change is necessary but oh so hard to take.
