An Exercise in Agrammatical Poetics

by KEVIN. Thursday, October 20, 2005

ten thousand feet stood in rows and lines
on the cold concrete
sidewalk twisted flowered vines
still persisted
issued from two legs one pair of shoes
and a tongue that begs
for destination where confused
stilted temptation
falls in place with naked candor
to entwine embrace
then escape awake meander
cognizance agape
the morning sun replete arose and shines

ten thousand feet stood in rows and lines
along long streets
vindictive guide for those who find
their faith defied
and turn away their swollen eyes
and walk away
looking ahead to their stolen sky
to leave the past to spread
its wings and fall away.
