the dividing line
the dividing line
the lines of separation can only go so far
and boundaries can be buried
under mountains of frigid snow
the cold leaves travelers wary
they move backwards, avoiding harsh conditions
avoiding snowstorms of sadness
never daring to cross that line
never coming to realize
that the sun only shines to those who know
that the other side is within their grasp
because barriers cannot stand forever
we can break, shatter, destroy, cross over them
and then the sun shines
hiding the shadow of the line that divided us

this is beautiful, destiny, i love the line “that the sun only shines to those who know that the other side is within their grasp.” this is awesome!

the second verse with the line “the sun only shines to those who know that the other side is within their grasp” makes people stop and think. lovely job.
