The Jonas Brothers

by Wednesday, August 6th, 2008.

Yeah, I know what youre probably thinking right about now. Why in the world would anyone ever appreciate their kind of music? How could you bear listening to them even for a second? Now before you go making all of your assumptions and dissing them before knowing anything about them just give em a try. Theyre really quite likable young musicians. Plus, their personalities totally kick the crap out of any of your celebrity idols. Sure, you may have your doubts at first, but youll warm up to them eventually, Ill make sure of it.

Okay so get a load of this, they just starred in their first movie (Camp Rock on Disney Channel), started their 2-year long world tour, and have a hot new album on the way titled A Little Bit Longer, including their hot new hit Burnin Up. And theyll be back in the fall to show their anticipated TV series, J.O.N.A.S. (Junior Operatives Networking As Spies). I must admit I was never much of a Disney person until they entered the scene. Theyve taken the world by storm, in a whirlwind of melody and frenzies of fans. As they make history, it is truly amazing how humble they have remained. They havent been tainted by fame or jaded in the slightest. It must be an extreme challenge for them every day to fight fame, but they remain grounded and down to earth, spending much of their spare time with family and close friends. A motto they live by, day-to-day is, Live like youre at the bottom, even if youre at the top. They grew up hearing this from their parents and never stopped believing it. When asked in interviews what the most important thing to remember while in the industry was, they always answered with the same quote. Before every performance they pray and chant, Living the Dream, living the dream, so it makes sense that their mini-show would be called Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream. This is their ROCKumentary giving fans a chance to get up close and personal. Its a glimpse of how their lives are and what really goes on behind the scenes, offstage. Theyre very thankful and grateful for everything that has happened to them in the past 3 years and boy do they deserve every second.

Did I mention theyre extremely fashionable? And NO, dont you dare judge them because fashion is not a crime or something to be thought of as queer. They just love to look good, and they do an outstanding job of it. I admire that they take care of themselves and put time into doing whats true.

The Jonas Brothers have even been recently compared to The Beatles and former boy bands like Hanson and the Backstreet Boys. How completely awesome is that?! Not to mention a total honor. I mean seriously, THE BEATLES! And come on now, I know youve had their songs such as Year 3000, SOS, or WYLMITE a.k.a. When You Look Me In The Eyes stuck in your head at least some point in life. Have you ever found yourself singing along to one of their extremely catchy tunes? Their songs are just so uplifting and relatable. I mean how cool is it for them as teens to have an amazing opportunity like this?! They write their own songs, play their own instruments, consisting of: guitars, bass, drums, piano, tambourine, keyboard (and are accompanied by their band and orchestra), and all they want is the best for their fans. Plus, theyre awesome performers with eye-popping stunts. I mean have you seen them! Nicks double (sometimes triple) back flips are way more than enough to stop your hearts beating. Kevins guitar spinner solos and dance-offs certainly get the crowd pumped, but nothing beats Joes famous splits and ridiculous cartwheels. No one can crack you up quite like he can. You havent seen a show until youve been to one of their concerts.

Yup, thats right. I went to a Jonas Brothers concert, July 17, for their incredible Burnin Up tour. It was chock full of screaming fans, broken hearts, sobbing, hysteria, mania, and chaotic crowds. They performed many new ballads that are soon to be coming out, including: Love-Bug, Pushing Me Away, and Be, Be Good. FUN FACT: Did you know that their concerts literally sell-out in minutes. They even broke a new record at the Gibson Amphitheater this year. And I was lucky enough to score 2 awesome tickets, more like blessed.

The loyal fans are the reason they play their hearts out every night doing everything they can to give us the most spectacular, unforgettable experience of our lives and so much more. Their drive for success is fueled by the devotion of fans, their amazing support system, and of course their utmost passion for music. Not only are they extremely talented and incredible, but hot damn they make my heart do somersaults and happy dances. Theyre great role models, heroes even, and deserve everything that they have and whats in store. I love them unconditionally and truly hope that theyll be around for years to come,or at least until Im too old to ROCK out! Their heads are definitely on the right track and Im hoping they stay that way because they absolutely inspire me in every way imaginable.
