Here is a world for you

The United States Department of Education needed a new building to house all of their activities, so they had one built for them since they have the biggest budget in the government system. The building is located in Davis, California, because they needed a place that was, well, boring; like school has a tendency to be at times. The building was modeled after an equilateral triangle because of the significance of teaching math. The “triangle” was built in 32 days at a cost of only about 20 billion dollars. The newly built equilateral triangle has four wings with each dedicated to strengthening the power of education.

Four branches are a part of this organization: discipline, air force, books and the educational frontier. Discipline, books and the air force are on the corners of the triangle, while the education possibilities frontier is in the middle of the building as a symbol to what this department says it stands for: making education available and accessible for everyone. The discipline wing has a huge repertoire of ways to keep children ninth grade and younger from misbehaving. The department tries to discipline high school students in different ways because the heads of this department know that these students are at a rebellious point in life. This means that their discipline does not include corporal punishment because this would not be too effective.

The types of discipline for students ninth grade and younger range from taking away privileges to the using stun guns for cafeteria food fights. In fact, each school has a discipline kit to keep things under control, which includes high-pressure water hoses, stun guns, candy, bandages, locks, handcuffs, pepper spray, first aid kit, radios, defibulators and extra body armor for that extra protection. Parts of this kit are only to be used in real emergencies and sometimes not even that. Each teacher has to be trained and tested in these procedures to get this kit. Only the principal has access to the main equipment. In each classroom a small box contains the abbreviated version: one stun gun, body armor and of course a fire extinguisher.

The air force is used only for the transport of students and teachers across the nation and sometimes across the world either for business or for leisure. This is basically a way to get students more information about life and also to get them more experiences in life. Each school has seventeen Leer jets for this and only this purpose; also each school now contains an airport. Basically, these students go on many field trips and not just to Los Angeles, but also to places like Normandy, Berlin, and Versailles so that the students can understand the ideas that the teachers are talking about more clearly. Along with the planes, twenty helicopters are also present for local teacher and student transportation.

The Department of Books contains everything in the Library of Congress and others sources as well. They have billions of dollars in books contracts to make sure that every book is as up to date as they can be. Each book is customized to the needs of the student population in each part of the school. There are more than 1000 books on the subject of American History alone. The books are given to the students when they finish the school year, as a way for the students to prepare for the next school year during the summer.

This is also the department that ensures that every student has the very best computer that is on the market. This department contributes a great deal of demand for the computers produced in the nation. Every six months, every computer is either upgraded or replaced.

The educational frontier works to promote learning and to keep students from falling through the cracks. If anyone were to get a C or lower, they are brought to the Triangle and grilled to find out at what can be done to give the students a better opportunity to do better in class, whether it is by bribery, mind control, threats or offers of cash. The teachers try every possible tactic to make the students do well; the department is always innovating teaching techniques to keep people wanting to learn. This group offers up rewards to teachers that have a high passing rate, and all students that do not pass (B or higher) are sent to the Triangle to analyze the teaching technique of the particular teacher. The department started their reforms in California because of the terrible reputation it has garnered over the years. A slow progression of taking over schools which includes giving teachers a bigger salary, more books, and a swimming pool in each school made things easier for students. It really was difficult at first, but they reached their goal of having an entire school full of super smart people, then it went to the district. Since the schools are new, the students are rather motivated because of the rewards that are offered later on.

New teachers that enlist in the district start with a measly salary of $400,000 a year, and the good teachers with some experience get an increase to a small sum of $1.1 million dollars. Well, some of the teachers at least can now buy a house in San Francisco.

Teachers are always constantly enlisted to do this job; they never have needed to call a draft because of the great demand for the positions. Basic training for the teachers involves months upon months of teaching them various subjects so well that they know every subject like the back of their hand. The training grounds are in Virginia and not everyone can actually pass the teacher qualification tests. In fact, the teachers can teach at the university level if need be. The teachers are also taught how to use the self-defense weapons that are present within their classrooms.

Every school in the “district” contains the most important tools to teach a student how and what to learn. They are loaded with supplies of books, Kray computers, tons of food and many cases of binder paper.

Wars are not fought anymore; the countries just have massive debates. For example if there is a disagreement with another country, they just debate on the issue until one country gives up the fight. Members of this department go to the schools to find the best debate team to send to other countries. They pick the people with the most stamina and intelligence. Again, they are transported to their battle via a custom designed Leer jet that has all the amenities of Air Force One. In fact, each debate team member gets a backpack loaded with a laptop, palm pilots and more.

The department has its controversies, though including a recent book purchase. The book, “Ways to Make a Prom Good,” was only two hundred pages, but cost 2 million dollars. This controversy almost led to the lower rung administrators being fired for stupidity.

The food in the cafeteria is not bad; they only have sushi, filet mignon and lobsters for the students. The teachers get better food, which includes pies and other home-made food, some costing hundreds of dollars. They teachers have an exercise room so that they can keep in shape to keep up with their training. The students also get an exercise room, but without an instructor.

The annual budget for this organization is usually 379 billion dollars, while the military’s is 54 billion. This only permits the military to have 6 guns, 2 soldiers and 300 rounds of ammunition. What do you think about this world that I have created? Would you like to live in a world like this?
