American Pie

by Friday, August 1st, 0199.

I can’t help but feel as if something is terribly wrong with me because I’ve actually enjoyed most of the movies I’ve seen recently. I feel as if I’m losing my sarcastic edge *sniffle*. Seriously, though, American Pie is pretty much all it promises to be. It’s a high school comedy, so obviously there’s a definite limit to how good it can be. It is absolutely no work of art, but then again if that’s what you’re expecting, you’d probably be too dense to recognize a work of art if you saw one.

Basic principle of the movie – take all the embarrassing things that could happen in high school that don’t happen since life is too boring, and arrange them in this perfect way so that everything in the end works out well, but not the corny kind of grrrrreat! That’s what was done, and it was pretty funny. The only thing is that in the first hour or so, there’s nothing in between jokes that grabs your attention, so you don’t actually realize you like the movie until later. I didn’t like it, didn’t like it, didn’t care for it and then all of a sudden in the last ½ hour it hits you – this movie is hellof funny. I might actually pay to see it.
